One way I practice being here and now—right here, right now.

Because my soul lives in The City but my body and mind currently lives in The Country (and I grew up in The Suburbs), I have been “embracing” what’s here, where I am, right now. So…a friend and neighbor of mine is a builder with a large woodworking workshop and has a lot of scraps on the floor. I killed two birds with one stone (not really) by sweeping up the random pieces of wood and making this box out of it (really). Next step is to paint it. I already put a coat of white pickling water-based stain on it, and now I’m spending some days just thinking about how I want to paint it–doing a little design-color-pattern, etc… research
